Online safety advice – Wednesday:
Almost half (46 per cent) of young people aged 12-16 feel they are addicted to their smartphones (Digital Wellbeing Study, 2020) Using your mobile or gaming in bed are hard habits to break, the blue lights and stimulating activity makes you sleep later, shorter and have more disrupted sleep.
Pick one of these to try this week:
- Try to take part in a new activity that does not involve technology.
- Try to reduce how long you use technology for, firstly try and reduce it by 30 minutes a day – small steps and targets are much more realistic!
- Leave your phone in another room when you go to bed.
